Christen (Chris) Dillon, Ph.D. is currently the Coordinator of Music Education at Valdosta State University. Dr. Dillon is the coordinator for the MAT in Music Education and is responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses stemming from elementary methods to psychology of music. His research studies examine the intersection of music and motivation--specifically, how personal beliefs of music ability contribute to musical behavior. Dr. Dillon has taught in public, private, and non-profit educational settings in Kentucky, New York City, and West Virginia. He has also taught at the University of Kentucky, West Virginia State University, and Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Dillon is an invited guest lecturer specializing in elementary vocal technique as well as Orff Schulwerk and Dalcroze music instruction and has presented research and practitioner workshops at national and international conferences.
